As we approach our tenth year in business creating unique and wonderful costumes for dancers worldwide we have outgrown our current home.
I am delighted to announce we are moving into a beautiful new studio within the historic Celtic Quarter of Belfast City where we can have more space to create and plan the exciting next chapter of Rising Star.
Over the next few weeks we will be settling in and welcoming our amazing customers for a tour while they are with us for their new costume. For those booked in for fittings we will let you know the next steps for visiting us
but nothing will change with your set times and dates.

The end of a year is always a time to reflect on the services we provide and this
year is no different. I take pride in the fact Rising Star is not one person but a team effort creating unique and beautiful costumes for dancers all over the world.
Costumes that are designed with the dancer’s personality in mind, because a happy dancer is a one who performs at their best whatever level that may be.
Recently the Irish dance world has been rocked with allegations of cheating which is both upsetting and embarrassing to all of us who stand on the right side of history. We have in the past gone along with trends of names on costumes and school identifiers but this is a time to change and think of the dancers who are putting in the long hours of training and let them achieve the result they deserve by themselves.
In my twenty two years of being in this industry I have witnessed many times when customers and dancers were treated unjustly from being told they can only use a particular designer to achieve a favour or a dancers costume could not be better than someone else in that age group. I believe in freedom of choice and this is not always awarded. Moving forward we will be making a conscious effort to keeping costume design fair for everyone with no names or identifiers.
Rising Star Designs is a company that is not associated with any one dance school. We provide unique costumes for dancers no matter their level, who they dance for or against. Every dancer is treated as an individual.
I hope we can move forward in time and celebrate the wonderful art form that is Irish Dance.

Its that time of year again and like every year we are attending the fantastic Mid-American Oireachtas this year in Indianapolis.

North American Nationals 2022
The NANS never disappoint but i did wonder if after the effects of the pandemic had they lost their
shine and i’m glad to report this is not the case. What a fantastically run championship really showcasing the joy of Irish Dance involving dancers from all over the world. I had such pleasure catching up with loyal customers and meeting new ones and telling them what wonderful things we will do for them for their new costume. Good News & Bad
Unfortunately due to Covid international travel restrictions myself and all your other favourite dressmakers will not be able to attend this years US Nationals in Phoenix.
But this will not make me stop discussing how Rising Star can make your costume dreams a reality.
I will be making myself available for Zoom Consultations where just like at my stand at a major we can chat about what you have in mind for your dancer but in a more calm and private way.

As many of you may know we love to create one off costumes for display at the Worlds or North American Nationals to showcase our quality and abilities plus have some fun also!
Keith designed some beautiful costumes for the Majors in 2020 which unfortunately no-one got to see in person so we think they should go to a good home.
We also have sample dresses from our Rince Collection plus some other costumes that we have gathered over the years that have not been worn.
